Meadowlark Preschool
A small community art based preschool that needed a little clean-up and clarity on its website.
Challenge
Meadowlark requested a website audit and revision to make sure they were visible to potential families and fulfilling the needs of current parents & students. Being a one person operation we wanted to make sure the visual aesthetic had her human touch.

User Interviews
I interviewed a small group of parents; with parents of currently enrolled students & potential new enrollees. There were clear missed opportunities to be implemented. There was a general consensus among the interviewed on a few items.

School/Teacher Ethos
Initial Iterations
Trying to add the human touch to the interface was more of a challenge that I thought it would be. The hand painting colors that are in the logo when used through-out the site became distracting and took away from some of the visibility of vital information, mostly when scaled for mobile.
I kept a handwritten image for the mission statement on the home page and added the keywords to the SEO for assurance the school is recognized by search engines.
Results
An improved/simplified web experience that included features from findings in interviews.
Takeaway
I would like to take the time to photograph the space for the school, it was one of the requests of potential parents.
Helping out a teacher is always a great project.
